Ikea Metod Screw On Leg Extender (402.055.99)

Why

If your robot vacuum cleaner does not clean under the Ikea Metod cabinets (standard 8 cm is at least 2.5 - 3 cm to low) or you just want to extend the legs. Use 15 mm or 30 mm file, whatever works for you.

I found some other projects but none of them was threaded and stayed firmly in place so I made this one from scratch.

Problem described on (among others) roborock forum and reddit.

Print

I printed mine in black PLA-CF from Bamboo Lab

My settings:

• 0.4 nozzle
• 0.2 layer height for threaded part
• any layer height for the rest (I used 0.28)
• 50% rectilinear infill
• 3 shells (vertical, upper, lower)

But test by yourself as this have to carry some weight, unmodded are rated at max 125 kg load/leg

Assemble

Works with Ikea Metod Leg (article number 402.055.99)

1. Remove the bottom lid (part 139994 in the manual)
2. Screw the extender into the leg to the end
3. You can still use the lower ring (part 139993) as the diameter stays the same

Caution

Don't use the extender to raise or lower the cabinets, use the thread in the leg as you would normally do without the extender
