Description
I needed to build something to track a door opening and closing. I got this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B96LDW6P) switch off amazon and its super simple and works great.
We have corniceing around all our doors so a simple flat design wasn't going to work. This extends the switch part of the sensor out enough that it can get past the door frame.
In the picture below I have used hot glue to attach a rpi pico w to switch forming a sensor. I also have a pico display pack on there, so there is also a model in here for that. I just hot glued it to the bracket as it would have been awkward to print in this orientation without supports, and its optional (you may want to just run wires to something else and not have the controller right on the door)
The central holes in the model (not the screw holes) are just to reduce print volume, but they also work as a little cable tidy.
