Description

This All-in-One 360° revolving desk organizer will help you to stay organized with style!

A sturdy and stylish organizer that has been designed for 3D printing and can be rotated for easy access to your daily stationary - or even be used as a fidget spinner to reduce stress while sitting at your desk speaking to those difficult customers :)

Features

  • 360° revolving desk organizer
  • 1x compact tape dispenser (Should hold the standard 25/26mm tape roles)
  • 1x large container for scissors etc.
  • 3x mid-sized pen holders
  • 2x containers for small stationary items such as paper clips, thumbtacks etc.
  • Optional 3x USB/ 3x SD-Card holder
  • Optional base for the rotation functionality

Print settings

I recommend minimum layer height of 0.20 mm for all parts. A fill density of minimum 15% works well. For the pegs and tape core I do recommend an infill density of around  20 - 30%.

Supports are not required for any parts as 45° chamfers have been used to avoid any overhangs and poor bridging.

Required Parts:

1x Ball Bearing: 8 x 22 x 7 (inner diameter = 8 mm, outer diameter = 22 mm, thickness = 7 mm). I think I have seen a printable ball bearing here on Printables that you could use.

For the tape holder blade use a 20mm long strip from any foil box that you usually find in your kitchen. Carefully place the strip into the provided slot at the front of the tape holder. It helps if you use long nose pliers for this step.

Printing & Assembly:

Steps (1-3) below can be performed in any order.

Step 1 - The Main Desk Organizer Body:

Print the main body.

HINT 1: I like to print containers with the advanced function “External perimeters first” as this prints a clean transition from the internal infill to the external perimeter.

HINT2: I managed to print the main body in under 9 hours by increasing the print speed to 150% on my Original Prusa i3 MK3S+.

Please NOTE: Prusa Slicer shows a warning that there are 8 open edges on the main body but the slicer thankfully repairs this automatically. I checked my geometry in my 3D design software but couldn't find any open edges issues. Thankfully Prusa‘s Slicer takes care of this anyway. So please print the main body with confidence.

Step 2 - The Tape Dispenser Core:

Print the tape core and core peg. Once printed, screw the peg into the tape core.

Step 3 - The Optional Base:

Print the base and place the ball bearing inside the provided hole. This step may require some pressure depending on your print quality. Firmly press the base peg into the hole of the ball bearing. Finally, place the main body onto the base peg. Use some rubber at the bottom of the base to avoid the base from sliding around.

I hope you enjoy this desk organizer and would appreciate a LIKE if you download or make this model.

Looking forward to see some makes in various color combinations and what you place into your organizer :)

This model was an amazing learning curve for me in terms of 3D modeling and getting everything to print without supports. I probably used about 1KG of PLA for prototyping and making sure everything fits together seamlessly. Thankfully my cat enjoys playing with the tape core parts that didn't print well during the construction phase. :)
