Description
** V0.2 Released, Cleaner code, now labels when no texture selected the label applies directly to the container no extra plate needed (looks better, saves time and material). Simplified options so configuring your own is easier.
When using debossed (innie) text watch the text depth and wall thickness..
Here is the ultimate screw top container, it is fully parametric so you can re-configure it to suit your needs exactly. Suits anything from Haribo to Digestive biscuits, cosmetics to allen keys.
Included is a great braille font that has all the 6 and 8 dot braille characters so labels can be proper grade 2 braille. Braille dimensions are based upon the Australian standards which are pretty similar to the other international standards so should be practically universal.
FYI: Grade one braille is simplified, consisting of the alphabet, numbers and basic punctuation. Grade two braille incorporates grade one and expands with contractions for frequently grouped letters and common words, among other nifty techniques, helping braille to require fewer characters to express things.
There is an easy way to convert labels into grade 1 or 2 braille. http://www.abcbraille.com/text you can copy / paste the unicode translation straight into the parameter for your label.
Non-braille labels can be embossed or de-bossed, that is innies or outies, just set the english_text_thickness to a positive number for an outie or a negative number for an innie. (+-0.8mm works well) .
The main cylinder texture is optional and easily changeable thanks to BOSL2's nifty texture feature.
This script features liberal documentation and a logical layout, it relies heavily the wonderful BOSL2 Library from https://github.com/BelfrySCAD/BOSL2 many thanks to the BOSL2 team.
Please go try OpenSCAD. It may suit you better than you expect.
Many thanks to the OpenSCAD team.
