Cabinet Door and Drawer Drill Templates

My new house came with no cabinet door or drawer pulls. I made these templates for uniformly drilling holes for all the missing drawer pulls and cabinet door knobs.

These templates slip on the corner of the cabinet doors and drawer faces to be drilled, and held in place by hand. I drilled two of the 22 cabinet doors in my kitchen and opted to remove the template once I drilled about 1/8" into the door. This worked perfectly for me and should extend the life of the template. Aside from the remaining 20 doors in the kitchen, I have 3 bathrooms with multiple cabinets which also have no door or drawer pulls.

The door template simply slips in place on the upper corner for bottom cabinets, or bottom corner for top cabinets. The drawer pull template is intended for handles with 3" centers on the holes, and is notched for a tape measure end. Measure width of the drawer face, divide the measurement by 2, place the tape measure lip in either notch, top or front, and use the divided measurement for centering. Once the template is in place and centered, remove the tape measure and hold the template in place for drilling.

The holes in these templates have a 4.5mm diameter, which accommodates an 11/64" drill bit.

Please excuse the condition of my kitchen as seen in the photo's. We decided to get a new puppy at the same time I'm trying to get the kitchen back together after having quartz countertops installed and my pantry is still ripped apart from a door upgrade, so my counters are currently covered with things that need to be put away. I'll add updated before and after photo's of the whole project in coming days...

As far as the cabinet hardware, these templates made that part of my kitchen dress-up a breeze!
