Description
Here's a simple, two piece model to update your Ender style hotend mount to direct drive. It looks great and lines up really well. Kind of a bear to install, but I was able to do it without taking anything off other than the bolts holding the idlers, so maybe not that bad?
I've found that a thinner stepper motor is not able to keep enough torque AT ALL TIMES to not slip. It's really a crapshoot as to figuring out what's working and what isn't, so try one at your own risk.
The stock stepper works fine with this adapter. At least it's been fine for the last 50-100 hours of printing I've done.
Materials needed:
Please don't remove my duck, because it's cute like me (I wish).
PETG works well for this, but does still settle a bit, so I'd recommend ASA or PC. Something strong as well. For at least the mounting plate. The spacer doesn't matter as much, since nothing hot is constantly touching it.
