Description
This piece snaps over the lamp assembly of the Coast HL4 dual color LED headlamp in order to spread out and distribute the contact area against the forehead, thus reducing pressure and increasing comfort. This is my favorite headlamp for astronomy/astrophotography, because the lamp has an adjustable angle, and the red light is not too bright and has a dedicated button: https://a.co/d/dry87iC
My only gripe with the light has been that the contact area behind the lamp that touches my forehead is too small, and after a few hours, it becomes pretty uncomfortable. A winter hat helps, but it's still not great. This piece just snaps on and fits the contour of my forehead (and hopefully most other peoples!) so that ‘hot spot’ is gone:
The print is PETG and it prints upright, with the flat bottom area on the build plate, with a brim and just a couple small overhangs requiring some supports. I think this could be printed in TPU as well, and maybe be even more comfortable due to the flexibility. The forehead contact area could also be covered in a self-adhesive foam, but I'm leaving mine bare for now.
It's the little things in life I say, so enjoy!
