Introducing the Polaroid 600 film to Spectra adapter, a functional 3D-printed model that enables the use of Polaroid 600 film with Spectra cameras. This adapter provides an exciting opportunity to experiment with 600 film formats on cameras for which new film is no longer being produced.
To ensure successful use of the adapter, please read the following instructions carefully:
Battery Springs:
- Note that the battery springs in the Spectra camera are not relocated in this adapter model.
- Option 1: Slightly bend the battery springs to the left, allowing them to make proper contact with the battery in the film.
- Option 2: Relocate the battery springs onto the film itself.
- Use conductive tape or alternative methods.
- Attach small pieces of metal to the springs with tape (a tested and proven method).
Compatibility:
- The adapter has been specifically tested with the Polaroid Image 2 camera.
- While other Spectra models may work, please be aware that clearances may vary.
- Some adjustments might be required to ensure a secure fit.
Film Ejection:
- To ensure smooth film ejection, remove the lip from the film.
Black Line on Bottom of Picture:
- Unfortunately, the film size is not identical height-wise, resulting in a black line at the bottom of the picture.
- An alternative option to avoid this issue is using round 600 film.
3D Printing:
- The adapter can be printed using PLA with a layer height of 0.2 and 15% infill.
