Description

A dust chute and PVC clips designed to get as much airflow as possible within the space allowed under the table of a Rikon 10-324TG band saw. Very likely also compatible with the 10-324 and 10-326.

Hardware required for a full installation:

2-3' of 2" PVC pipe
1 PVC "vent" (sharp turn) 90 degree hub/spigot
1 PVC "vent" (sharp turn) 90 degree hub/hub
4 m4 socket head screws between 12 and 16mm long plus
4 m4 washer
4 m4 locknuts (bandsaws vibrate!)
10 15x2mm magnets

See image for install detail. Print the chute, 2 open-sided pipe clips, and 1 closed pipe strap. The collector connection is up to you, but I've included an adapter for 2" PVC pipe to Ridgid 2 1/8" vac hose.

Drill holes in the door to bolt front clips with m4 screws, and glue magnets inside of pipe strap. Getting perfect alignment around the blade and up to the bottom of the table at the same time is a bit of a pain, so taking this one step at a time and tweaking print sizes as you go may be easier or at least a good failsafe. I've uploaded the FreeCAD files, but they must be opened with Realthunder's branch at https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_assembly3/releases

The whole pipe unit pops off the front with little effort for blade changes, angling the table, making bearing adjustments etc, and the magnetic strap on the side prevents the chute from twisting into the blade. Works an absolute treat so far.

Print instructions

For dust chute, tree supports at 40 degrees for all overhangs >45 degrees will generate support that rises from the bed at all points rather than from anywhere inside the chute.

Clips @ 20% infill.
