Description
Three variations of a printable replacement for the Wheeler & Wilson No. 8 glass presser foot. Designed by taking measurements of an original foot from my mom's machine.
There are three versions - one with a hole size similar to the original, and two with larger holes (one rectangular, one round) which might work better if you have issues with tolerances or if there are differences between machines.
Blender files are also available for download if you'd like to edit. If you run into any problems, please leave a comment to help others out - or post a make or remix.
To get it to be sort of translucent, my examples in the photos here were printed in clear PETG as 100% perimeters with no infill at all… Not sure that's worth it, but I thought it looked cool. Translucent SLA resin printing would probably get you the best clear version.
UPDATE: Shapeways went out of business, and then came back, but without the storefront I was using as a printing service - as such I have removed those links. The best/cheapest/easiest option for getting one of these printed will be to just print it yourself, or have a friend do it. If you do not have access to a printer, check local resources like your library etc.
