RadioLink RC8X RC Transmitter Battery Extension Box

This is a battery extension box for the RadioLink RC8X RC transmitter. This extension allows you to use more widely available rechargeable batteries, like the 2 cell battery packs that use the 18650 cell type batteries. Those battery packs tend to be in the 2000mAh range and give you a nice runtime in the transmitter. This extension box, attaches to the existing RC8X body without any modifications. It uses a latch just like the one on the factory battery compartment cover to secure it to the RC8X body.  There are also two versions of this extension tray.  One will extend down approximately 10mm and the other approximately 20mm.  The 20mm version allows for even larger batteries.   Each version also has their own unique cover.

I printed the main body upside down from its normal position. The cover I printed in its normal position. I used tree supports for both, which I find easier to remove and also provides a better surface. I used 0.16 layer height only to get the best surface finish (look). 30% infill works nicely, but I used 100% on the small latch. The latch attaches to the body using M3x6mm cap screws.
