— MIGRATED FROM MY OLD THINGIVERSE ACCOUNT —
There are a bunch of awesome key holders to print on this site (and others), and I have used on that was featured on thingiverse for a long time. But it broke recently, and I wanted one that would better fit my needs. So this is my take on the millions of swiss army key holders on thingiverse.
The USB is kind of a failed attempt at making a custom USB pen, and keeping this black and red theme. I uploaded it anyway...
What is different?
There where two things I really wanted in a everyday carry item, and that was a loupe!
I am taking a education as a machinist, and a lot of the time I need to focus on surface finish, burs and chamfers. So having a small loupe is quite handy. Even at home working with 3D prints having a loupe is a great idea. I have 4 different loupes in total :-) I like loupes...
Last I need a small knife... who doesn't?
You will need
2 x M3 Locknut (Needs to be a lock nut, otherwise it might unscrew itself) 2 x M3 bolt with 20mm thread and a head with a diameter below 12,5
(Optional)
1 x "30X Glass Magnifying Magnifier Jewelry Loupe" - Search it on ebay, it will be the first item listed most likely.
1 x Knife small enough to not stick out,AND to be legally carried where you live! I am not responsible for anything you do! Do your research!
What I will use for mine
Assembling the loupe. If you are not going to use a loupe, or just keeping the metal frame, you can skip this.
I just used a pair of scissors to unscrew the little ring holding the glass, but you need to be careful not to scratch the glass!
Carefully push out the small glass without touching it too much. BE CAREFUL AROUND THE EDGES!!! If you bought it from ebay, its must likely not the best of quality, so the edges may be sharp!
Put it in between the printed case. If you want to you could add a small dip of glue, but screwing them together with the rest of the holder should hold them just fine.
Done
The keyholder
Insert the loupe, keys and accessories. If you wont use a loupe, you can put more keys instead.
Screw it all together and we are done! Make sure that the screw makes contact with the rubber in the lock nut, so that it wont unscrew it self over time.
