Description
Attention:
The Original Desktop Filament Extruder MK2 from ARTME 3D® is a small but powerful desktop device that allows you to produce your own filament or recycle 3D printing waste. You can find the complete documentation and the corresponding kit on www.artme-3d.de.
Use the STL file format if you want to load the files into the slicer in order to print the files. Use the STEP file format if you want to edit the parts in a CAD program.
Requirements for the printer:
The print quality and dimensional accuracy must be good. The printer must be well aligned and the axes must be at 90° to each other. Das Druckbett des Druckers muss mindestens 200x200mm groß sein.
Print material and color:
I recommend printing the following components in PETG because of the heat load:
ED-A-coupler
ED-B-hopper
ED-C-hopper centering
IN-A-cover
The rest can be printed in PLA. However, I recommend to print all parts in PETG, because it is not as brittle as PLA and the parts break less quickly under stress.
The color choice is up to you. The SO-E-sensor shutter part must be printed in (opaque) white to perform its function, but this part is included in the kit.
The printing time can be up to several days. You need to plan for about 1.3 to 1.6 kg of material consumption.
Print settings:
Printer nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer height: 0,2mm.
At least 5 wall lines
At least 5 upper layers
At least 5 lower layers
At least 40% filling
These settings apply to all components except for component ED-A-coupler. For part ED-A-coupler I recommend:
Printer nozzle: 0,4mm
Layer height: 0,2mm.
At least 8 wall lines
At least 8 upper layers
At least 8 lower layers
At least 40% filling
Part alignment and support structure:
When you load the STL files into the slicer, they are already aligned so that they can be printed without support structure. There is only one part that needs support structure: ED-D-hopper spout
Number of pieces:
The FG-N component must be printed twice. All other components only once.
Optional components:
From the files that contain the note "Option" in the name, you must select the file that is appropriate for you to print:
For parts SH-G through SH-Q, you must select the part that matches the inner diameter of the filament spool you are using.
For parts FG-O and FG-P, you must select the part that matches the size of the filament spool you are using. FG-O for spools up to 1kg. FG-P for spools up to 2kg.
Print parts SH-C and SH-D if you want to make 1.75mm filament. Print the SH-C (option 2.85) and SH-D (option 2.85) parts if you want to make 2.85mm filament.
Finding your way around the print files:
All 3D printed parts have a unique designation. The first two capital letters indicate the part group. A 3D printing part with the designation ED-B therefore belongs to the Extruder Drive group. The exact breakdown can be found in the parts list of the extruder. You will find it in the documentation.
