Description
There are several great LED hex panels already available, but I wanted an option for both a “ring” and “solid” style and couldn't find one. Additionally, this was designed with ports in the back so that wires can be run through the back instead of the sides, which allows for each panel to be isolated instead of being forced to connect them. The tradeoff being that these were not designed to be self-supporting, so they should be mounted to a different backing material if suspended from the ceiling - I used cheap plywood.
I used M3x4 bolts to assemble these, but 3mm filament as well as the Pegs included should work to retain the diffuser. I used #6, ½" long wood screws to mount them, but any similar sized screw should work.
90031A148 - Phillips Flat Head Screws for Wood, Zinc-Plated Steel, #6 Size, 1/2" Long
92095A471 - Button Head Hex Drive Screw, 18-8 Stainless Steel, M3 x 0.50mm, 4mm Long
Will support any LED light strips up to 10mm wide. I used these from Amazon, but most should work just fine.
