Collapsible Darksaber from The Mandalorian

This is STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS. 

This is a remix of the amazing model created by Polymath314 on Thingiverse. I've also linked the 2 collapsing darksaber models that inspired me. Altho This is NOT technically a remix of either of those models as the internals and the blade is a completely original design, these 2 darksaber models were a huge inspiration for the effort. I also linked the polymath314 remix split by color, as my final intent is to give this version of the Darksaber the split by color treatment. 

This thing is VERY MUCH still a WIP. I plan to redesign the pommel to accept a flashlight in the near future. The blade as is will eject the top 2 sections if you swing it open too forcefully. 

I don't have a spot for a flashlight yet. But I feel OK publishing this as is because it does work. I printed everything in this prototype out of 3d Solutech PLA. My end game would be all PETG as I like the way that feels in the hand compared to PLA. I'll be printing the blade out of either Polymaker Natural PLA or a translucent Polymaker PETG in the future. I would mask the front and back edge and then paint the rest of the blade black so that when the flashlight is turned on, only the edges glow. 

(I do plan on uploading the step files of the blade design, but I just haven't gotten around to exporting them as a step yet.)
