Description
Update 7 January 2022:
reuploaded STL files with manifold errors fixed. Added picture of my print (unfortunately I pushed too far to the printer borders and had some warping, hence the large gaps).
This is a relief model of Switzerland.
STLs were generated using code from here: https://github.com/IdeaShakerLab/dem-to-stl
with data from here: https://shop.swisstopo.admin.ch/de/products/height_models/dhm25200
Digital elevation data on a 200 m raster
and country borders from here: https://shop.swisstopo.admin.ch/en/products/landscape/boundaries3D
Scale is 1:1'000'000 without vertical exaggeration and there is a 3 km base added (surface of Lago Maggiore, lowest point at 193 m, will have material strength of ~3.2 mm).
Feel free to increase vertical exaggeration to your liking (this can be done in most slicers directly by non-uniform z scaling). Large vertical exaggeration may lead to an excessively thick base that may be eliminated also directly in most slicing softwares.
This thingy is available as a single STL file (Relief_CH_complete.stl) or cut into six chunks of roughly square shape.
