Description
The second generation Ford F-Series trucks were manufactured from 1953 to 1956. The F-350 is the "heavy duty" version.
This model is a simplified model of the emblem on the front of the truck.
I used polystyrene glass for the stand. It is Gutta (or GuttaGliss) "hobbyglas" of 2 mm thickness and with a size of 14 * 18 cm.
For the font of the text "FORD F-350" on the stand I used the font "Accidental Presidency" by Tepid Monkey (Brandon Schoepf). It is 100% free to use: https://www.dafont.com/accidental-presiden.font
By stretching the text horizontally, it is somewhat similar to the font on the left side of the truck.
The total size is 14 cm width, 13 cm deep and 17.5 cm high.
When it is scaled down, the gap for the glass will become too thin. If you want to scale it down, then a new gap has to be made. The angle of the gap is 20 degrees.
I made the model in OpenSCAD with the logo as a svg file. I decided to only publish the resulting stl files and not the source script of this model.
This model needs to be painted (or printed with multiple colors).
I printed it with PLA and painted it with acrylic paint.
For the "chrome" look, I used normal medium-dark silver paint. It turns out, that it makes the layer lines more visible. I did not use priming paint and I did not sand it. The "chrome" look should improve with more care and a better "metal" paint.
Because this is model of a (vintage) logo of a brand, it is only for personal use.
I made this 3D vintage logo from (my own) photos and pictures, but I do not own the design. The brand name and logo are owned by the Ford Motor Company.
