Description
Updated 2026-06-07, basically made a bunch of changes that I had wanted for a long time and now it is pretty much perfect.
I designed this because I wanted to save some money by ordering loose bundles of filament that I could then quickly put on spools for use with my printer. But… I didn't have any extra spools and furthermore standard spools would require tedious winding of filament.
This object solves that problem as the spool itself is two parametric parts that can join around a loose bundle of filament making it instantly usable with all standard printers. If you'd like to see it in action you can watch the following youtube video:
