Description
This was inspired by a necklace I saw in the gift shop of the Glasgow Transport Museum. (Sorry, I didn't note the artist, but cudos to whoever you are). It is one continuous vase print with no interior space. The result is, essentially, four perimeters.
Look at the .3mf file included. The extrusion widths are critical so the slicer doesn't abandon the vase print but maximises the wall thickness. There is a colour change stop at 1.60mm. You can change that or add more colour changes. There is also a print pause at 8.20mm to allow insertion of magnets. Change this if you use larger magnets (can't be much bigger though).
The necklace clasp is held together with magnets. The magnets I used were 8mm in diameter and 2.65mm in thickness. There is room for a total length of magnets of about 10.5mm. I used 3 magnets each side, could have used 4. The gap between the two ends whilst printing is 2.7mm. Put an extra magnet (or something solid) in the gap to hold the sides in position so the ends won't be distorted by the magnets and the next layers will print correctly.
Use the most flexible material your printer can handle.
