Description
Made this for my Celestron Nature DX ED 10x50mm roof binoculars. It was modeled to be similar to the Celestron Binocular Tripod Adapter (https://www.celestron.com/products/binocular-tripod-adapter) so it might fit Celestron’s other porro and roof binoculars.
There are two tripod adapter versions included:
The filament used to print the adapter needs to be both strong and rigid. Suggest using ASA or ABS. PLA is rigid but might be too brittle. PETG is strong but may be too flexible. Print in the orientation shown in “Print Orientation” picture and the 3mf file. Although this orientation requires the use of supports, the print layers will be oriented to maximize the strength of the finished part.
Print settings for adapter using Prusa i3 MK3S+ with ASA material:
| Material | ASA |
| Perimeters | 7 |
| Infill | Density = 25% Pattern = Rectilinear |
| Supports | Support on build plate only |
| Brim | On Outer brim only |
Test the fit of the adapter to your Manfrotto clamp base. If it doesn’t lock in place easily, see “Ridge Removal.pdf” file for adjustment instructions.
As shown in the pictures, there are two different options for the threaded bolt to secure the adapter to the binoculars:
