Description

I thought I'd use a simple triforce design to test this method for making a print that is easy to clip on with a bobby pin. I ended up putting in a bit of extra attention to making the hole less visible so it doesn't break up the triforce shape visually—amazing what you can do with a bit of chamfering :P

This should be pretty easy to print:

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • no supports
  • Things to keep in mind if you want to try and resize the model: The bit that the bobby pin attaches to is 0.4mm thick; it shouldn't be thinner, and it could probably be a layer or two thicker. The chamfers are 45º.

And of course, you will need a bobby pin. (If you don't have any: they are cheap, ubiquitous, and anyone who does more complicated hairstyles probably has some. I fell out of using them for a couple years and forgot just how effective and efficient they are—it's always good to have some lying around. Also: Remember that the wavy side of the bobby pin faces down/towards the head.)

I printed this in Prusament Pineapple Yellow PLA.

P.S. I am working on a couple fancier LoZ wingcrest designs (generally, not for hair), so keep an eye out! :)
