Description
My 2yo just figured out doorknobs, and he got into the cleaning supply closet the other day. I was going to make a doorknob cover, but then I had the idea of making a sliding lock that is out of his reach. The result is alot cleaner looking, and less annoying for the non-toddlers.
The travel is .75". I printed it with a Bambu X1C, is PLA basic, no support (it bridged fine), with 0.2mm layer height, 50% fill. It took 45 min and ~20g of filament.
I used my handy-dandy calculator (check my profile for more details) that uses a calibration to dial in the size and fit of parts…and it worked perfectly. I aimed for a 0.010" gap all around, and my calibration sheet resulted in a perfect fit.
It is mounted to the wall, trim actually, with 2x 16mmx70mm 3M command strips.
