Description

🇷🇺 Добро пожаловать в Россию

Welcome to Russia

Important Note:  Artemio García started creating this model for MiniWorld3D several years ago. When he finally finished it, the war between Russia and Ukraine had just started. We decided to not publish it at that moment because of its obvious relation to the topic and to avoid misinterpretations about MiniWorld3D's agenda.

It is a pillar of MiniWorld3D to remain impartial, non-political, non-religious and non-biased, because our focus is education and spreading all cultures without preference. Regardless of opinions and current events, this is a historical wonder of architecture that belongs to all humanity. We share it now with Club members because it's a beautiful model and we don't want to wait for a “right time” that may never come. It will at some point become publicly available to everyone.

-----------------

There have been existing models of St. Basil's Cathedral for years, but Artemio's version has the MiniWorld3D seal of quality! We hope you enjoy printing this model, especially in resin or with MMU / AMS!

The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed (Russian: Собор Василия Блаженного), commonly known as Saint Basil's Cathedral, is an Orthodox church in Red Square of Moscow, and is one of the most popular cultural symbols of Russia. The building was completed from 1555 to 1561 on orders from Ivan the Terrible, and it was the city's tallest building until 1600.

It has a unique shape and style, not seen before at the time of its construction. Its layout is composed of several chapels around a central larger one, each with its own dome, together shaped like a bonfire flame.

During the non-religious time of the Soviet Union, it was confiscated by the state and turned into a museum. Since 1997, weekly Orthodox Christian services have been restored, despite still officially belonging to the Russian Federation (from Wikipedia).

MiniWorld3D is happy to bring this historical model to life as a homage to all the people of Russia. Please give credit, it's all about spreading culture!

This model was exclusive for a time in our Printables.com Club and has now become available to everyone.
