Description
This is a simple bird bath for helping out the little birds during summer. I tried to minimize the material used so that its an easy yet practical print.
You will need a pan and a 2 liter soda bottle.
I updated the model with threads so that it’s easier to screw on like a cap. There is are 2 holes at different heights to facilitate better flow of air to replace the water flowing out. The height different between the holes mean that there is higher water pressure on the lower hole compared to the top. Water has a higher tendency to flow out of the bottom and let the air in through the top. This theory seemed to work and its better than having a single hole.
I also added a sleeve to put around the bottle. This is needed as the soda bottles are designed for high pressure but will buckle under low pressure. I added some hot glue to keep it in place and give overall structural strength to sup the low pressure created in the bottle. sleeve worked well as you can see in the pictures.
The model was made in OnShape and the here is the link to it.
Lots of little birds use it daily and they take turns.
