Description
This handy little GoPro mount attaches your cam to a backpack strap or other object. I made it for backpacking and use it as my only mount out on the trail. It's great for live action shots from your chest strap. Strap it to a small sapling for camp footage. The cutout also tucks neatly under the grip on your trekking pole for for a fixed mount on a firmly planted pole alongside the trail, for selfies or as an extension for different point of view. Camera pivots forward 135 degrees, back 10 degrees.
Print Directions | Print laying with the flat side of the part on the bed. No supports required. I'd recommend 5 perimeters, 8 top and 8 bottom layers for a solid plate and robust part. With those settings, infill is optional. Printed part is about 18g, total weight is about 30g (1oz) with strap and hardware, so very minimal impact on your carry weight.
I use PETG but PLA should work as well, just beware of the lower temperature limits and don't leave it on the dash in your car.
Assembly | Requires a 1" wide velcro strap. One with a small buckle on one end works great. It can also use a sewed-on strap from something like this “1inch x20 ft Self Gripping Cable Strap…” on Amazon: https://a.co/d/9acSMVL.
Requires either standard GoPro thumbscrew and nut from another mount or off-the-shelf hardware like this “Oumers Long Thumbscrew with Cap” on Amazon: https://a.co/d/8kzynJZ. Nut snaps in and is retained even with the thumbscrew removed.
One hint - be careful not to tighten the screw without a camera or another fitting in the slots as you can break the first “finger” on the mount.

Hope you find it useful!
I'd love to see pictures of it in use out in the wild.
