Description

This is a fan shroud with a 5.5mm microscope mount for the Micro Swiss NG extruder.

Made by modifying the official Microswiss Fanschrode STEP file. It is designed to allow the scope to go through the vents of the part cooling fan, but does not completely block the air passage.

Shrouds with different hole sizes (6mm and 5.8mm diameter) are available for mounting the scope. Tight hole sizes make it difficult to remove the scope. The first prototype I made was so tight that I broke the scope when removing it. A little looser is preferable (fix with adhesive tape). I have prepared 5.8mm and 6mm diameter gauges, so print those first to help you decide which size shroud to print.

In addition to the official Micro Swiss fan shroud, the following parts were used.

I used PrusaSlicer to generate the G-code.
I used PC filament by Overture for the print.
The main settings are;
Nozzle Temperature: 250°C
Bed Temperature: 100°C
Layer Height: 0.2mm
Cooling fan: 0% up to 45 mm height, 20% above that to prevent the pipe from distorting due to heat
Support: Grid, on buid plate only, uncheck "don't support bridged"

Precautions for use:
The performance of scopes varies from product to product, so the results obtained will be different for each.
There are various factors such as heat resistance and image quality.
It is essential not to use a very expensive scope from the beginning.
Please use at your own risk.
