This is a remix between three different styles of Spool Auto Rewinders. There are multiple options for the side brackets depending on your needs/preference.
Changes:
- Updated Shana's sidebracket.stl to support the slightly larger axle in B. Logan's files
- Made 3 side bracket style alternative options with shafts for each (see below)
- Added 2 additional winders to B. Logan's files, and adjusted the Friction End to accommodate for a better fit inside the body
- Update 8/12/2023: I updated the last winder so that it is slightly shorter, this prevents things from locking up better by providing more clearance inside the container. I included the EndWinder_V2.stl under the core section so that its a simple change if you have already printed your Auto-Rewinder. Just print the new part, then swap it on your current assembly.
- Update 8/12/2023: The V2 SideBrackets were updated to have better tolerances for the connectors. This also makes it much easier to remove spools when its time to change them out.
There are 3 styles available to print here is the differences between them:
- V1: This is the Style from Shana's model with a slight modification to support the bigger axel
- V2: This style utilizes Repkord's base with some adjustments
- Reduced the overall thickness of the side bracket
- Added inset holes to support socket style bolts for the shafts
- Updated side bracket spool axel connect to support rewinder axel
- Improved tolerances for connectors to make changing filament easier
- V2 - Screwless: This style is similar to V2, but instead of socket screw, it utilizes the same connector as the axel so screws are not required. (Bearings are still needed however)
Hardware:
- M3x6 screw (depending on style)
- 2 608 Bearings
Print:
- You will need to print all of the Core Components for each assembly
- Pick the style side bracket you would like to use: V1, V2, V2 - Screwless
- V1 requires panhead (or button head) bolts
- V2 can utilize panhead, button head, or socket style bolts
- V2 - Screwless does not need any bolts
- You will also need 2 608 Bearings per assembly
Note: The container in my file has been adjusted to fit the additional winders inside, due to this adjustment you may need to utilize a spacer ring to get the spool to be locked in. Your spool should be snug and unable to move once setup correctly.
