Oculus Quest 2 VR pistol grip - Fits Quest 3 controllers

August 31, 2024
Description
IMPORTANT: This is just a model shell grip for a VR controller.
NOTE: This is for the Oculus Quest 2/3 controllers. If you are looking for the Quest 1 version, see here.
NOTE2: This will fit a Quest 3 controller, but it may be slightly on the loose side. Try use a bit of foam tape to pad the gap for a more snug fit.
Introducing the "Chewey_GLK-17"!
After seeing a couple of pistol grips on the market compatible with the Oculus Quest 2 touch controllers, I want a set for myself to use with Pistol Whip and other shooter VR games on my Quest 2. However, I didn't want to pay $70-90 for a set for both hand controllers, so I decided to just make my own kit.
This is based on the Glock 17 1:1 scaled model by a user name archie73 on thingiverse.
I also used the 3D scanned model of the Oculus Quest 2 touch controller by a user name stevesch on thingiverse. Specifically, the "quest2-touch-R-50k.STL"
With my fledgling skill at CAD and focus on comfort, the final product may not look as cool as the other designs. But I put a lot of focus on comfort, so I play tested with it a lot and have removed all the jarring uncomfortable bits for a comfortable extended VR session.
Each hand controller needs:
- 1x Grip
- 1x Slide
- 1x Front lower
- 2x Screws
Assembly notes:
- One screw is used to join the Grip with the Front lower. These were separated for ease of printing.
- One screw is used on the side to secure the Slide in place in case it slips off while mid VR session.
NOTE: The grip STL is for the RIGHT hand. Simply mirror it to print for the LEFT hand.
Derivatives and remixes are under Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike, but please also include its original name "Chewey_GLK-17" somewhere on the final design. Please do not monetize on this model. Thanks!
