Use the Hart Stack System to bring your Gridfinity bins on the go!
These toolbox organizers stack and lock together for easy portability, and they just so happened to fit the Gridfinity dimensions very well, parts don't even spill out when shaken.
Pros:
Firmly holds down bins, prevents parts from spilling even when box is shaken
No hardware required, friction fit
Does not damage the box, can easily be reverted to stock
Retains waterproof seal! (If you have 5u bins and don't need the hinge/latch adapters)
Cons:
Will actually lose the waterproof seal if you print the hinge / latch adapters to fit 6u tall bins in the toolbox
See this video:
If you print just the baseplate provided you will be able to store a 5x6 grid of bins, but they will need to be 5u tall or shorter. Most of my bins are 6u so I included adapters for the hinge and the latches to add a few mm of height. The box will lose it's waterproof seal but retains the ability to latch to other Hart Stack containers, and this whole process can be reversed.
There are also 2 bonus 1x1 bin positions in the upper corners of the bin, so this is really a 32 bin storage container!
It look a long time to get the friction fit right on the hinge adapters but they are very snug now without any screws!
HOW TO ASSEMBLE:
Print in place, no supports needed.
Insert grid into box. If you have 5u bins, you are done. Otherwise…
Gently but firmly remove the latches on the front of the toolbox, and replace with newly printed extension latches. They are friction fit and if you look behind them you can see which direction to apply pressure, they should snap on/off without any hitting or hammering required.
Use a nail or screwdriver to gently push the 4mm hinge pin out from the back of the toolbox. Once it's moved a little you can grab it with pliers and pull it the rest of the way out.
Push the small and large hinge adapters into the lid of the toolbox. They have small ball-clips on the sides which will take some muscle to get into place, but they hold firm once seated. Once attached re-insert the 4mm hinge pin removed in step 4, but this time it slides through the adapters.
