Description
This is a 3D printable version of a light cover that's also commercially available. I saw no reason to spend $17 plus shipping for something I could easily make myself, and customize to my liking. It's sized specifically to fit the Streamlight HL-X series of lights but it may also fit others. If you need a cover for a smaller light, I would suggest checking out this one:

The purpose of this, besides providing protection for the lens, is to prevent any unwanted discharge of light if the switch is pressed by accident, which might otherwise reveal the position of the user. It attaches to the light with a short length of 1/8" bungee as shown, and is held in place by one or more ranger bands around the light body near the cover. A couple differences between mine and others I have seen, are the counterbored holes which will allow the knots of the bungees to sit flush below the surface, and also some raised striations on the tab for better traction.
I recommend printing this using a 0.4mm nozzle at a 0.2mm layer height. There are features in the counterbore to force the slicer to bridge across those holes rather than trying to print concentrically in space, so they will print cleanly. Those features are sized for a 0.2mm layer height, so they may not print correctly if you vary from this.
