Description

This is a modified version of Official_Dino55's Glamrock Freddy Head model. I added a hinge for the jaw and widened the neck hole to make the model wearable. The hinges only require two skateboard bearings. Rubber bands can be added to spring the jaw closed.

Paint colors used:
Rustoleum Gloss Marigold
Rustoleum Gloss Almond
Rustoleum Gloss Apple Red
Rustoleum Gloss Seaside
Rustoleum Metallic Titanium Silver
Store Brand Gloss Black
Store Brand Gloss White

Finishing Tips:

I used spray primer+filler and Bondo Spot and Glaze putty before the final coats with gloss spray paint and this worked really well. Apply a thin layer of Bondo, let it dry, sand it, spray with primer+filler, and repeat until the surface is as smooth as you'd like. Make sure that the last coat before painting is spray primer for best results.

Electronics:

I used 44mm OD, 30mm ID 16 LED ws2812 rings for the lights. These are daisy chained together and controlled by an Arduino Nano. The electronics are powered by a LiPo battery with a charging circuit.

See the FreddyEyes.ino file for the simple Arduino script. This just lights all of the LEDs a solid teal color.

Jaw Hinge:

Two standard skateboard bearings are needed for the jaw assembly. Elastic bands can be attached to spring the jaw closed. You may need to play around with where you attach the bands in order to get proper movement.
