Description
Early development prototypes of 84mm payload modules designed for the Simple 3D-Printed Water Rocket Launcher project circa 2023. Siloed from main project and here mainly for historical interest.
Designs for 0.5L Polar Seltzer bottles are found separately here.
Camera Module for RunCam 4K circa 2023. Unknown if new models fit; likely there are smaller camera modules now. Connects to the 1L Polar Seltzer payload mounts on the main page.
Delayed Parachute Release Module that uses Silly Putty (or duct sealing putty or plumber's putty) to release the nosecone 2-3 seconds into flight. This is a harebrained mechanism which I wouldn't recommend.
Threaded Fins for PCO-1881 (US/Canada).
Hey. Pressurized systems are dangerous. Know what you are doing and take appropriate safety precautions. Make your own assessment about whether this project is appropriate for what you are trying to do, and use at your own risk. Do not attempt without appropriate experience, protective equipment, and tools. Most water rocket guides recommend not pressurizing past 60psi/4 bar. Always secure the launcher to the ground.
Also: these designs are early alpha prototypes. They have high likelihood of failure and will likely smash your rocket and camera to pieces.
2026-06-10: Updated page to not recommend for new builds. Will keep page up for historical record.
2023-09-27: Fins Threaded Universal v0.05 posted. Untested.
2023-09-18: Deprecated Aerodynamic Parachute Release. Remains untested, but by analysis is unlikely to be reliable.
2023-08-30: New DPR versions validated with flight test x2. Base 0.24, Rotor 0.21, Nosecone Ring 0.20, Screw 0.1, Putty Cover 0.10.
2023-08-20-ish: Initial upload
