Description

As I just very recently entered the world of 3d-printing, I was asked for a helmet stand to dry and store a helmet on. So I fired up fusion 360 and started modeling one. Credits need to be given to my dad for not only introducing me to 3d-printing, but also for his tremendous support throughout every modeling project.

 

The base is 200mm x 175mm x 8mm to provide for maximum stability and keeping the stand from tipping over, even when the helmet is set or even thrown on hastily. The flat dome on top secures your helmet on the stand while covering only little of the inner surface to allow your helmet to dry quickly after use. 180mm overall height provides for enough clearance and sufficient air flow for maximum ventilation. 

To further personalize it, you can have your name embossed in the base.

 

Printed with 4 Perimeters and 25% infill for maximum stability and a brim for increased bed adhesion.

.4mm nozzle and .2mm layer height.

Print time is 14 hours. 

Printed with yourdroid PLA black (would not buy again due to stringing).

 

The model shown has a 30mm column diameter. I later decided to make a model with 40mm column diameter as well to increase visual heft, while I still prefer the 30mm diameter version for its more elegant appearance. Decide with what you want to go. Besides the gcode for the 30mm version, you'll find the 3mf and f3d files of both, so you can make edits if you like - changing parameters or adding text to it to make it your very own.
