Description

This smartphone stand has very few flat surfaces that the slicer can use to orientate the model properly on the print bed.

So, the .stl file has a small floating “plug” that is not attached to the model. Set this plug’s outside face on the print bed. You’ll need to be familiar with seam placement and organic supports. If you like the color scheme, you will also need to know how to add a color change at a given layer height. This print takes over 14 hours to complete. If you are new to 3D printing, this may be a difficult print for you right now.

Settings

Use PLA or PETG filament, .4 nozzle, .2 mm layer height, 15% infill and organic supports.

(This model will print best with dry PLA filament.)

Layers thickness;
4 bottom
4 sides
4 top

Note; Check your phone’s dimensions before you start this print.

This fits a smartphone with the outer protective case overall dimensions of 11.65 mm thick x 82.5 mm wide. (My phone is an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a Spigen magnetic case.) You can always scale the stl file up or down in Prusa Slicer to fit your smart phone. Use the measure tool in Prusa Slicer to check your model before you start the print.

Hint: scale your model first and then figure out your color change layers if you want them.

The four 12.7 mm dia. depressions found on the model are for an optional .5” dia. X .062”, non-slip, adhesive foam pad. They prevent the stand from sliding around. They also help with audio sound quality. https://www.mcmaster.com/product/8213K1

Eddie does sound slightly louder through the passive speaker.

lf you decide to post a make, thank you!

Regards,
-Printium 3D
