Goodman handle for Sofirn SD05

My wife hated the SD01 because it is too bulky and heavy. Then I watched a video about ISE Alien light … of course, why not use two of our backup lights as a single primary! The burn time of SD05 is plenty for our dives. The beam of SD05 is even narrower than that of SD01 which is great for communication. And as a bonus there is built-in redundancy.

It is designed around the same base and grip as the original SD05 handle. You will need:

• 3x M5x25 stainless steel hex bolt
• 3x M5 washer (OD at least 17mm)

There is also a key to help with disassembly. It allows to remove the lights with the grip in place.

Print instructions

One complete set includes:

• mount 95 or 105
• grip 95 or 105 (should match the mount)
• top part
• 2x thumb nut
• optionally one of the keys

PETG is advisable to help it survive summer days in a car.

Grip: 0.2mm layers, 5 perimeters, 15% infill, no supports, a little cleanup may be required for overhangs in the slots

Base, top: 0.2mm layers, 3 perimeters, 15% infill, no supports

Thumb nuts: 0.2mm layers, 2 perimeters, 15% infill, 5 bottom layers (to make the part under the head solid), no supports
