Description
My 80-year-old mother-in-law is blind, needs to use a walker to get around the house, and lives in a flat with self-closing fire doors on every room (why a bathroom needs a fire door I cannot fathom).
She can't see to push in a standard wedge doorstop (nor could she stand on one foot and push with the other). She lives alone so normally never needs any door to close. If the door on her bathroom were to close with her inside, she wouldn't be able to pull the door open with her walker in the way.
This doorstop sticks to the door using two-sided tape and swings on the hinge into the door frame. It can be fixed within easy reach at shoulder height. If someone else needs to close the door (to use the bathroom), all they have to do is swing it out of the way.
It uses a print-in-place hinge. There are two holes for fixing using screws, if desired. Fits any door around 44mm thick.
