Description
If you want to hold paintbrushes or colored pencils, I recommend the Cubistand from sdmc : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1294085 I use it for my brushes and it was a great inspiration for me.
Here is 3 different marker stands, for (mostly) any size of markers. If you own markers that does not fit well with any of my stands, feel free to give me the dimensions of your markers in the comment section, I will make a new stand for yours. I will upgrade the MarkerStands depending of my needs.

As an early user of the Cubistand for my brushes, I enjoyed a lot the concept. I tryed to print an enlarged version for my markers, but the Cubistand was not good for markers because they're mostly of the same size unlike the brushes. So it's hard to peak up a marker in the middle of the stand. Otherhand, scaled up, the cubistand was too high for smaller markers. I realy needed to work on a new concept.
As ex-POS professionnal, I know accessibility of the product is crucial for any user experience with a display. There's many ways to display items of the same size with ease of use. But this is a desktop stand, it's meant to be compact, especially because designers often own hundreds of markers. I tried some compact display forms, different measurements, and I ended with a stepped display that combines a very small foot print, not much printing material, and a pretty easy access to the markers.
Feel free to write a comment if you've got any improvement idea about it.
