Hanging Shelf (Wall or Cabinet)

This is a remix of the Kitchen Cabinet Shelf from HoytDesign.  

The core design is great but I needed a different size for the width and depth of the Tray.  

I also am not going to be hanging them from another shelf like the original one. 

I have trimmed off the extended hangers and added countersunk screw holes for mounting. 

There are two screw versions right now but I will add more.

#1 - shelf_226.695mm_8.925in Wide with 190.437mm tray

The magnetic version of the shelves can take up to four 32MM magnets, similar to what I have linked below.  

• The center hole is sized for a M3*5*4.2 brass insert. You could go smaller on the length if needed. 
• I used a M3x8 flathead screen to attach. a m3x6 may work but just wasn't quite long enough for my magnets
• I enabled Tree/hybrid support for the magnet holes since I printed the shelves with the back/holes on the plate. If you print with the tray on the plate, you may not need supports or just small manual tree support for the top of the hole. 
• The back of the magnetic version is extruded out more than the normal version to conceal the magnet and allow additional space for a brass insert/screw.

Next will be a top magnetic mounted version so you can hang it from the underside of a metal shelf/surface.

I have attached a test print piece for the magnetic version so you can test your magnet and brass insert before printing the entire shelf. 

• Added a couple pictures of the magnet test print
  • Did one face down and one face up to test tolerances with the filament. 
  • Tested the same magnet in both and worked just fine.

One of the pictures shows the difference between the original tray depth vs the adjusted one.

The picture demonstrating the magnet version is with only two of the magnets of the four spots, and it was holding 4 full tubs of gfuel with no issue. If I needed to support more weight I could add another magnet.  

There is nothing special for printing for the regular screw-hole version. I printed with the mounting holes flat on the plate. Keep in mind if you have any amount of good weight, use more infill/wall loops. 

• I chose to print with the back of the shelves to the plate so the layer lines are vertical when the shelf is mounted vs. horizontal. If the shelf were to fail, it would fail at a layer line, and having it print horizontally in the mounted orientation may increase that chance.
