Description
The original design is great! It did have one downfall: The threads on the arm segments tended to snap along the layer lines.
This remix aims to fix that by separating out the threaded parts into its own printed piece, this allows it to be printed along its side for maximum strength.
As the thumbnail shows, the redesigned parts are able to support the weight of my Blue mic with ease.
The parts are 90% compatible with the original design, and the arms operate basically in the same way they do in the original design
You will need to print the following models:
| Name | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Redesign-[Short]-Arm-Base | 1 |
| [Short]-Arm-Mid | 1 |
| Redesign-Bolt | 2 |
| Knob | 4 |

If, like me, you have already printed out a few arm segments, you can re-use some of the parts you've printed!
You will need to print the following:
| Name | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Redesign-[Short]-Arm-Base | 1 |
| Redesign-Bolt | 2 |
| Knob | 2 |
Â
As always, I've uploaded the Fusion 360 model, so feel free to improve on this (it's a bit of a mess this time around since I just re-used the original file)
The bolts are meant to be printed on their sides, and should be printed with extra perimeters. (In my case, 4 was more than enough).
No extra infill should be needed, I printed at 20%
