Description
My Sculpfun S9 has had many changes. One of them is a touch screen controller with WiFi for easier remote access and control.
The screen was always a pain to put anywhere. It would fall, it would be in the way, it would….. anyway, time to create something nice for the screen to conveniently put it away.
So I created a casing with 2 neodymium magnets (15mm diameter, 5mm thick) inside. I've added 2 little lids to keep the magnets in place but in my case the magnets fit nice and tight so the just stay in their sockets without any need of screws/glue/tape.
The back of the display casing has 2 small ‘dents’. The wall mount has 2 bumps. These keep the display where it should be.
The casing can be used with the flatcables sticking out of the top of the bottom. I like the cable to point away from me when holding the display in my hands. I you like the cable pointing towards you (or down), just place the screen the other way around in the casing.
Also I created a wall/frame mount which also must be used another 2 magnets of 15mm diameter and 5mm thick. This mount can be placed on the laser frame. The mount is 20mm high so it will fit nice in front of the frame. Also the mount has a cut out for the 2 flatcables to hang behind the screen. Also you can use screws with heads 6mm wide max to put it on another flat surface.
I printed 2 mounts. 1 is placed on the laser frame, the other is placed on the enclosure I made for the laser.
