Description
This is a printable version of the Openbuilds anti-backlash TR8 nut block - https://openbuildspartstore.com/anti-backlash-nut-block-for-8mm-metric-acme-lead-screw/
How to use:
mount where it needs to go
loosen all screws
insert leadscrew into the TR8x8x2 threaded hole
slowly and very gently tighten the m5 adjust screw, until all the backlash is gone. The leadscrew should still rotate very easily, so if it doesn't, loosen the screw a little.
now you can tighten the other two screws
Source of the original model: https://openbuilds.com/projectresources/anti-backlash-nut-block-step.153/
0.4mm nozzle
0.2mm layer height
5 perimeters
5 solid layers on top and bottom
supports off
Material: something hard, low friction and slow wearing. PLA works fine, ABS should be a bit worse. The ideal material would probably be Delrin.
After printing, before inserting the screws, insert the leadscrew and try screwing it back and forth a few times. It should loosen the fit significantly. Adding some grease into the hole helps too.
The adjust screw hole needs to be tapped with an M5 thread.
