Description
Action cams' WA lenses usually are heavily exposed to dust and damage and should be protected while not in use. The Runcam 2 is no exception. It's a mystery to me that Runcam doesn't care to supply a protective cap with the camera, so I downloaded a cap STL from Thingiverse and printed it. Yet I was not satisfied with it since a) it fit the lens too loosely and b) tended to touching the front lens. So I made my own model that includes a conical front area which prevents the cap from touching the glass.
Since the cap is slid on the lens hood, it's advisable to print it using TPU, so it can have a tight fit and still avoid to scratch the hood. However, in case you don't have TPU filament at hand, there are five different diameters available in 0.05 mm steps from 20.45 mm to 20.65 mm. The 20.50 mm version should fit best if using TPU while for PETG etc. I recommend using the 20.55 mm version. PLA should be avoided since PETG at least is somewhat softer. Printing parameters are uncritical for this model, so use whatever seems to make sense.
