Description
These prints fit over the stamped feet ‘humps’ on the bottom sheet metal of the Coleman Triton 2-burner stove, so that it can be leveled when placed on a campsite picnic table. As you may know, campsite picnic tables are never level to begin with, and that can present a problem when cooking your pancakes! Why mess around with putting branches and rocks under the stove, when you can use these bad boys? The design integrates a ¼-20 threaded hole for a standard hex bolt and TPU ‘cover’ to do the actual leveling. Small magnets hold the foot in place for your convenience:
Perfectly level! These little bubble levels are convenient for the purpose, and I cut out a piece of self-adhesive magnetic tape to put on the back of the level for easy stowing inside the stove.
The feet are printed from PETG and hold up fine to the temps during actual use of the stove. The design is meant to print in the orientation shown below without supports. The magnet openings are meant for 8mm X 3mm neodymium magnets, which just press into place.
I used 5/8" long 316 stainless steel ¼-20 bolts, and made covers/knobs for them that friction fit over. I printed them in Ninjatek Ninjaflex TPU, and that gave the feet a nice grippy texture. No supports are needed if printing ‘right-side-up’, with 2 perimeters and 15% gyroid infill giving a nice amount of flexibility to the foot.
When in use, the feet tend to rotate on the ‘humps’ easily, since there isn't much friction between the PETG foot and smooth painted metal of the stove, so to stabilize the stove, I added self-adhesive rubber feet on either side of the foot to ‘lock’ in the desired orientation:
The feet stow easily inside the oven when not in use.
Never struggle cooking pancakes with all the butter pooling on one side of your griddle ever again!
