Description
Haha! Looking through all my old 3D models throughout the years and came across this gem. The venerable Pyro GX from the 1990s PC game Descent II. The geometry is pulled from the official polymodel extracted from the game's .HOG files! Back in the day I used a point cloud generator to compute the vertices from raw coord data!! Brought it into the 21st century today with 3D printing.
Technically I didn't “create” this model but there was no option to select for what I went through to reconstitute and reconstruct it from a file type that was never designed to be imported into another program. All credit for the design of the ship goes to Interplay. The game is 28 years old, so hopefully they won't mind.
Please note, this model does require printing with supports, if you're using FDM like I am.
