September 4, 2023
Description
HR 8799 is the first extrasolar star system observed with direct imaging.
Here you can find a time-lapsed video of 12 years of W.M. Keck Observatory (Hawaii) imagery of star system HR 8799 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa3OObe8TRI&ab_channel=VideoFromSpace
This mechanical orrery is fully printed. It shows the revolution of the 4 main planets and the dust disk of HR 8799.
This project was realized with the OSUG (Observatoire des Sciences de l'Univers de Grenoble) : https://www.osug.fr/

Instructions :
1/ Use the 2 “ClipBig” to attach the “PlateInf” to the “Base”. If the clips are too tight or too loose, you can heat them slightly with a lighter to extend/close them.
2/ Add the “Wheel Crank 1” and the “Wheel Multiple”.
3/ Make a pile with “W48 - W63 - W69 - W92 - W115”.
4/ Add the pile on the “PlateInf”.
5/ Use a “Clip” to attach the “Crank Handle” to the “Crank”.
6/ Use a “Clip” to attach the “Crank Wheel 2” and the “Crank” to the “PlateSup”.
7/ Put the “PlateSup” over the “PlateInf” and use 2 “Clip” to attach it.
8/ Glue all the “Planets Axis”. Put them on the “Planets Base” and add the “Planets”.
9/ Clip the “Planets Base”.
10/ Add the “Dust Disk”. Glue the “Star” and add it in the center. HR8799 is ready to use !
