Guitar Fret Crowning Block

Can be used to touch up the crowning of a guitar fret after a minimal fret leveling. Not meant to be used on a lot of frets, that would require proper tools as the sandpaper wears out fast especially on stainless steel frets.

You can print many of them for different sandpaper grits.

Usage

Apply double-sided adhesive tape to the back of the sandpaper. Cut a 6mm wide strip from it using a steel ruler and a knife. Apply the strip to the block exactly into the recess. Cut the overhanging sandpaper strip on both sides using a knife.

Start crowning with the block laying flat on the fretboard (45° cutting angle), and gradually lower the cutting angle by tilting the block. Check out some videos on the topic, don't f…k up your nice guitar :)

The sandpaper wears out quickly, but it's easy to replace by pealing of the old one and adding a new from the same sandpaper strip.

Printing

Print in PETG with high detail settings. Place upside down on the build plate, then no supports are required and the important recessed surface will be printed nicely. I printed them with 0.05mm ULTRADETAIL settings with 15% infill and brim.
