Description

This is a slide on enclosure for the Mars line of Elegoo printers.

This is the "dark" version, so it lets less light in. The other “light” version can be found on my profile. The “dark” version requires less acrylic and less screws/bolts.

Featuring easy opening mechanism.

You can buy the acrylic, already cut to shape:

You can also buy the black printed parts in case you don't have a filament printer:

Prints in parts and fits on a standard size printer (Prusa MK3, Prusa MK4, Bambu Lab X1C and P1P, whole line up of Elegoo FDM printers).

Instructions PDF is below. DXF drawing for the laser cutting acrylic panels is below (3mm acrylic). Ideally use orange, red, or any other UV resistant acrylic in 3mm thickness 🌞

BOM:

  • M3 8mm (x16)
  • M3 Nut (x28)
  • M3 10mm (x2)
  • M3 5mm (x12)
  • M3 20mm (x2)

 bolt inserting instructions:

Simply insert any length bolt and pull the nut through the hex shape hole, then tighten and remove the bolt.

The longer side pieces can be tricky and using a corner of a table helps inserting it. Then again use the bolt to tighter and move the nut all the way, then remove the bolt. Don't overtighten as this is just plastic !

All you do to attach it to the printer is tighten the 2 bolts at the back.
