Description
Become a barrel maker! Print and assemble this cute wine barrel, smaller version.
The wine barrel really consists of 19 single planks which give the barrel a realistic look. The barrel is 4.2 cm (1.65 inches) high and 3.2 cm (1.26 inches) wide.
Please do not resize the model in your slicer, as the tolerances are designed for the present size. Look at the picture with my small and normal sized wine barrels.
If you need a larger wine barrel, you might consider my following Thingiverse object:

List of items to print:
Print this item 19 times.
Print this item once.
Print this item once.
Print this item once.
Print this item twice.
You may want to print the following items in a brown color to simulate wood:
Barrel small segment V2.stl, Barrel small cover btm V2.stl, Barrel small cover top V2.stl.
When the following items are printed in a silver color, they look like metal:
Barrel small ring large V2.stl, Barrel small ring small V2.stl.
The assembly is a bit tricky. You will need a rubber band to avoid frustration. The shape of the bottom cover makes the assembly a bit easier. Please look at the assembly instructions further down. No glue is needed, everything comes together nicely.
Enjoy printing this object.

STL files for new version V2 of the barrel. I now have used the mirror modifier in Blender to make the barrel absolutely symmetric in the Z axis. The upper and lower small rings now have the same semi tight fit.
Printer:
FLSUN Super Racer
Rafts:

Supports:
No
Resolution:
0.2 mm initial layer, 0.2 mm layer height, use experimental feature "adaptive layers" in Cura
Infill:
20 %
Filament:
GIANTARM, TINMORRY PLANew Brown, Silk Silver
Notes:
Nozzle not larger than 0.4 mm.
If you use the Cura slicer you can use the experimentatl feature "Use Adaptive Layers" to save some print time. I got very good results with the adaptive layers.Do not resize the barrel in your slicer program. Everything is designed for the existing size. If you resize it, I am not sure if the segments will form the required 360 ° angle.
Wine barrel assembly part 1
Please look at the 19 printed segments: If the rough side is too rough, you can give it a bit of sanding to make it smoother. The rough side is the side which was the top side on your printer bed.
Try to create a structure as shown in the picture. The rubber band holds the 4 segments in place. Without the rubber band you will get a headache.
For a perfekt look try to choose the same orientation for all the segments. This means that the rough side is always facing in the same direction, e. g. to the left. Thus, a rough side will always touch a smooth side.
Wine barrel assembly part 2
Add more segments to the 4 existing segments with the rough side always facing to the same direction. In the example on the picture, the rough side is facing to the left.
Wine barrel assembly part 3
With my printer and at several prints the last segment fitted nicely. If you have troubles to get in the last segment or if there is a gap, please tell me and I will design a suitable last segment for you.
Wine barrel assembly part 4
Insert the top and bottom rings. Please make sure that the rings are facing in the correct direction. The upper part of the upper ring is a bit less wide than the lower part of the upper ring. With the lower ring it is just opposite.
Wine barrel assembly part 5
Add the middle ring.
The assembly is now complete and you have created a very cute wine barrel.
The small wine barrel was designed with Blender.
