Loss-protection buckle inside backpack

Use case

I just found this new backpack at my local motorbike surplus shop. The only thing that I was missing was an inner bag that was additionally protected by a zipper or some other measure. I don't like the thought that the only thing that protects my wallet from being stolen or from falling out and being lost, is one zipper to the outside world. That is why I made this extra buckle for, which is tested to do exactly what I want it to do.

Printing

Printing of the needed parts is very easy. All of them can be printed without supports and basically any material should work ok. I recommend 4 perimeters and 100% infill for strong parts, the print time and material usage is very small anyway. 

Assembly 

For the assembly you need:

• 2x D-Ring (was actually published by me in an earlier post, uploaded her as well for your convenience)
• 1x Central pad (new design, first ever upload to this publication)
• about 25cm (10inches) of 20mm wide strap webbing, which you can probably steal from any old backpack you have
• A bit of super glue that works for your material (I used PETG from DasFilament.de which I know glues extremely well with YUKI MODEL superglue). 
• Optionally 1x Sidewise pad (new design, first ever upload to this publication)

Form a sling from about 10cm  (4 inches) of strap webbing around the two D-rings, glue both ends together with superglue, but make sure the D-rings can still move loosely in the sling. Glue the sling to the outside part of the compartment that you want to secure within your backpack. Depending on how much you trust the glued connection between the backpack material and the straps, you may want to use the sidewise pad and glue it on top of the strap and to the backpack material around it. That will give an extra strong connection.

Glue about 15cm (6inches) of webbing into the central pad. It should stick out through the middle of the pad and sit fitting on the bottom side (see pictures, the strap is shown in red, the pad is shown in green). Glue the central pad just above the compartment you want to secure.

Usage

Once the glue is hardened, you are done. You have an additional double-D-ring buckle for one inner compartment of your backpack to securely protect your wallet, your smartphone or other valuables.
