This model was made using the data of the Plank spacecraft of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB or CMBR), processed with MATLAB R2016a. This data is a map of the sky at a specific microwave frequency "inverted" where the areas with higher "elevation" represent area in the sky where the CMBR has more intensity. This radiation was emit 370000 year after the Big Bang when the protons and electrons cooled enough to form hydrogen atoms. This epoch was called the Recombination Epoch, when the universe was a white fog. The radiation of the CMBR frequency is 160.23 GHz, corresponding a black body temperature of 2.72548 K.
It is not totally true to say this model has a scale, because it does not represent a geographic relief but a intensity of radiation. This 13 cm model represent a surface at a distance (sayr) travelled by the light since the year 370000 after the Big Bang (13772 million year ago), so this surface is that of a sphere of radius r. The hydrogen atoms on this surface produced the CMBR that we see today. This sphere is the speed of light 299792458 m/s multiplied the time since the Big Bang in second, of radius; giving a diameter of 2.6 10^26 meters. Consider the model is about 13 cm in diameter that result on a scale of 1 in 2 10^28, which is, in short scale, 20 octillion, and in long scale, 20 thousand quatrillion.
The matter in the universe that emitted the CMBR is at the present farther away than is now, because of the expanding nature of the universe, 4.4 10^26 meters away, 3.3 times the distance then.
The original map was modified to enhance the low frequency variation areas. Also, the final model was simplified to make "visible" for the Thingiverse 3D viewer.
